NEW FOR 2022!!

*NEW* BEST NATIVE BREED IN SHOW

From 01/01/2022, Best Native Breed in Show should be classed at all the All Breed Championship Shows & International Shows prior to the commencement of the Groups. This will be open to the 9 Best of Breed winners in the Native Breeds on the day. The judge selected for this will not have judged any of the breeds on the day or will not be judging any of their relevant groups or Best In Show later on in the day. The judge will select 1,2,3,4. This result will have NO bearing on further competition in the Groups or BIS. The Native Breeds will gain points based on these placings, i.e., 1st = 4pts, 2nd =3pts, 3rd=2pt and 4th =1pt. A leader board will be compiled during the year and awards given to the top winning Native Breed under this system.

The 1,2,3,4 in BIS at the Native Breeds Championship Show will also count towards this competition. There is NO entry fee for this Group.

*NEW* SPECIAL BEGINNERS STAKES

A new stakes class to help promote newcomers to the scene and also to encourage some competing in the more numerically strong breeds. To be eligible to compete, neither the owner/handler or the dog will have won a Green Star prior to the entry closing date of the show. This class is judged on the quality of the dog and placings are 1-4 as in the other stakes classes. Sligo & District Canine Club are charging a special reduced entry fee of €5.00 for this class.

*NEW* NEUTER CLASSES & BEST NEUTER IN SHOW

A new class for sterilised dogs over 4 months of age on the day of the show. Neutered dogs are confined to this class and may not compete for any other award other than Best Neuter in Show. Sligo & District Canine Club are charging a special reduced entry fee of €5.00 for this class.
