SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. RULES The show will be held under the rules of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd as in force on 22 May 2022
  2. VENUE The show will be held at Naas Racecourse.
  3. JUDGING Judging will commence not before 12 noon. No claim will be considered in the event of an exhibit being late.  No person will be allowed in the ring except THE JUDGE, SHOW OFFICIALS or any EXHIBITOR taking in a dog for adjudication.  In the event of the appointed judge failing to keep his engagement, the committee shall have the right to appoint another judge.  During the exhibition of dogs the judge will not allow any form of distraction by ringsiders and will disqualify any exhibit that is being assisted in its performance by any person other than the handler
  4. ENTRY FEES As stated on the entry form. Entries in Brace, Colour, or Children’s Handling Classes must have been entered in one of the breed classes. Dogs entered in the Children’s Handling Classes shall be the bona fide property of the handler or his/her family.  Handlers may only enter the class scheduled for this appropriate age group.
  5. REGISTRATION ETC. All dogs entered for competition or otherwise must be registered or transferred at the Irish Kennel Club Ltd., Fottrell House, Unit 36 Greenmount Office Park, Harolds Cross Bridge, Dublin
  6. INELIGIBLE ENTRIES If before judging of a class in which his dog is entered incorrectly as to sex, an exhibitor may be permitted to transfer his entry to the appropriate class or classes. A dog entered in a class for which it is otherwise ineligible may be transferred to an Open Class and no other class.
  7. ERRORS The promoting body will not accept any responsibility for mistakes in the catalogue which may bring exhibitors within the purview of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd rules
  8. PRIZES Rosettes 1st to 4th in each class. Perpetual trophies confined to fully paid up members of the Society.  Sponsored prizes will also be awarded in each class
  9. RESPONSIBILITY The All Ireland Collie & Sheepdog Society (and the show committee or promoting body) whilst taking every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of exhibits, will not be responsible for any loss, damage or accident to any exhibit, exhibitor or other person attending the Show.  Exhibitors shall be responsible for keeping control of their exhibits at all times
  10. **ALTERATIONS All announcements appearing in the club website – allirelandcollie.com and on the AICSS facebook page prior to the date of closing of entries and in reference to any alterations made by the Club in the schedule, or in these regulations shall be deemed sufficient notice thereof. Exhibitors will be notified by email of any necessary changes
  11. LATE AND NON ARRIVAL Fees of exhibits arriving late or failing to arrive or rejected on veterinary grounds will be forfeited

MEMBERSHIP 2022. You may pay the Treasurer, Averil, at the show. Single €10, Joint €15, Family €20.  

Introducing our judge Peter Farrell (Belrah)

Peter has had Rough Collies for over 40 years. In all three colours, he’s made up 15 champions (5 International and 2 UK). He’s judged many times in Europe and awarded CCs in the UK. We’re delighted to have him judge this champ show – our first show since 2019

NOTE CAREFULLY:

  1. Dogs under the age of 4 months are not eligible to compete at this show.
  2. All dogs entered for this show must be registered or transferred at the Irish Kennel Club in the name of the exhibitor

No child under the age of 8 years will be permitted to handle dogs in the ring at this show.

 

CLASS DEFINITIONS (The word "Dog" includes both sexes)
A Baby Puppy Class is confined to dogs over four and under six calendar months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.  Dogs under 6 months may not compete for Best Dog or Best Bitch.
A Minor Puppy Class is confined to dogs over six and under nine calendar months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
A Puppy Class is confined to dogs over six and under 12 calendar months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
A Junior Class is for dogs between nine and 18 calendar months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
An Intermediate Class is for dogs between 15 and 24 calendar months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
An Adult Class is for dogs between 24 and 36 calendar months of age on the first day of the show
An Open Class is for dogs over 15 months of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
A Champions Class is for dogs who have gained the Title of Champion under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under a recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries*
A Pre veteran Class is for dogs over six and under eight years, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
A Veteran Class is for dogs over eight years of age on the day of the show, computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth
**please note that a Veteran who is a Champion may enter in either Veteran or Champion class, but not both**
