Show Rules & Regulations and Instructions to Exhibitors

  1. The Show will be held under the rules of the Irish Kennel Club Limited.
  2. The Show will be held at Naas Racecourse, Naas, Co.Kildare Tipper Road entrance,  W91ED00 on Sunday 22nd May,2022. Judging will commence at 10.00 a.m in all rings.
  3. No claim will be considered in the event of an exhibit being late for its class. No persons will be allowed into the judging ring except the Judge, Show Officials, or an Exhibitor taking a dog in for adjudication.  The exhibit number of each dog must be clearly displayed by its handler.
  4. In the event of any appointed Judge failing to keep his/her appointment, the Committee reserve the right to appoint another Judge or Judges.
  5. The Committee reserve the right to alter the proposed order of judging if this should become necessary.
  6. Entry Fees before first closing date: First dog,€26.00  Each subsequent dog: €10.00 Stakes Classes €10.00 Baby Puppies only €10.00
    First Online Closing Date will be Monday 1st May, 2022.

  7. The Committee reserve the right to reject any entry, advert or other insertion in the Catalogue.
  8. Ineligible Entries. A transfer of an incorrect entry as to the sex or breed is allowed if reported to the Secretary’s Office prior to commencement of judging.  A dog entered in a class for which it is not eligible may be transferred to the Open Class in that breed, but in no other respects.
  9. Registrations: All dogs entered for competition at this show must be registered at the IKC Ltd, Unit 36, Greenmount Office Park, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6.
  10. A Judge will be empowered to withhold any prizes of Green Stars if, in his or her opinion, the exhibits are not of sufficient merit.
  11. The Catalogue WILL BE Available FREE online. Hard copies may be ordered and prepaid for €5.00
  12. Car Park is €5.00
  13. The Catalogue will be compiled from the entry forms and while every effort will be made to have the forms correctly interpreted, the Committee cannot accept any responsibility for mistakes, which may bring exhibitors within the purview of the IKC  Ltd.,  Rule 15,  Section 1,  or  for  clerical  errors  that  may  occur  during compilation.
  14. The Promoting Body will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained through accident by exhibits, exhibitors, or other persons attending the Show.
  15. The Promoting Body shall be the Show Committee and all disputes shall be dealt with by the Show Committee.  Parties to any dispute shall have the right to appeal to the IKC Ltd.
  16. Exhibitors must clean up after their dogs.  Suitable facilities will be provided.

Note:  Addition to IKC Rule 7, Section 1 Re: registration of dogs entered Failure to comply with the above will result in:(A) The Dog being disqualified from the event, and (B) The Exhibitor being find Euro 130.

CLASS DEFINITIONS
(the word “dog” denotes both sexes)

In the following definitions any award which counts towards the title of Champion under the rules of any Governing body recognised by the Irish Kennel Club will be regarded as the equivalent of a Green Star.  Similarly, the title of Champion is continued as if it were attained under the rules of the Irish Kennel Club.

A Baby Puppy Class is confined to dogs of 4 months and under 6 months of age on the day  of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
A Puppy Class is confined to dogs of 6 months and under 12 months of age on the day  of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
A Junior Class is confined to dogs of between 9 and 18 months of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
An Intermediate Class is for dogs between 15 and 24 months of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
An Adult Class is confined to dogs over 24 months and under 36 months of age on the day of the show computed from and inclusive of the date of it’s birth.
An Open Class is for dogs over 15 months of age on the first day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
A Champion Class is for dogs who have gained the Title of Champion under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under a recognised Kennel authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries of the show, ie. Monday 16th May, 2022.
A Veteran Class  is for dogs over 8 years of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
A Neuter Class is for  steralized dogs over 4 months of age on the judgment day of the breed computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth. They do not compete for the Green Stars, Stakes classes and there is no Neuter Champion title

Special Beginners Stakes: A new stakes class to help promote newcomers to the scene and also to encourage some competing in the more numerically strong breeds. To be eligible to compete, neither the owner/handler or the dog will have won a Green Star prior to the entry closing date of the show. This class can be offered at any show. This is judged on the quality of the dog and placings are 1-4 as in the other stakes classes.

Note: (a) A Veteran dog/bitch who is also a Champion may entered in either Veteran or Championbut not both.
  (b) A Dog or Bitch may be entered in one breed class only.
  A Breeders Class is for a minimum of three and a maximum of five exhibits of the same breed and variety without distinction of sex bred by the same person (same kennel name) even if they are not his/her property.

All dogs entered must be registered or transferred at the Irish Kennel Club in the name of the exhibitor.

Show a minimum of 3, to a maximum of 5 dogs, all bred by you. A winner will be declared in each breed and go forward to Best Breeders Group in Show. There is NO ENTRY FEE to enter the Breeders Class, but the exhibits must be entered in regular breed classes. Prize Money for 1st-4th.

An Introduction to our Judges

 

Miss Tracey Douglas (Talard); A warm welcome to Tracey on her first Green Star appointment in Group 1.  A most popular and sought after judge, we are delighted to have her on our panel of judges, her Talard Australian Shepherds are top winners.

Mrs. Anita Foley-Duggan (Leorient); Successful and popular exhibitor of Shih Tzu and Siberian Huskies under the Leorient affix. Delighted to have Anita on our panel and we are sure she will get a bumper entry and we hope she enjoys her judging with us today.

Miss Clare Burnett (Mon Cher); Delighted to welcome Clare to Navan Dog show in a judging capacity. Clare is well known for her top winning Mon Cher Bouvier des Flandres. We hope she enjoys her day judging with us.

Mr Kenneth Stevenson (Bacchante); We are delighted to have Kenneth judge for us, he is a popular exhibitor and breeder of CKCS and Rottweilers under his Bacchante affix is a much sought after and popular judge, we are sure you will enjoy his judging.

Mr & Mrs Darren & Elaine Walker (Lueldar); Delighted to have Darren and Elaine judge for Navan today. Two progressing judges, World renowned for their Alaskan malamutes and Siberian huskies.  We hope they enjoy their day and we are sure they will draw a great entry.

Mrs Maria Weafer (Mamoru); Very pleased to have maria judging for us today. Well known for her Top Winning Mamoru American Akitas, this is Maria’s first appointment in group 2 and we are sure the Dobermann exhibitors will give her a bumper entry.

Ms Kirstie Forster (Megalmar); We are delighted to welcome Kirstie to judge for us, she is a Rottweiler and Newfoundland specialist, originally from the UK, but now based in the South West of Ireland. She has a wealth of knowledge in the breeds, we hope she enjoys her day’s judging at Navan .

Mrs Michelle Leeper-Nevin (Leevindane): Delighted to welcome Michelle to Navan Show to judge. Michelle is a popular and highly respected breeder and exhibitor of Great danes, she judges a number of  breeds in Group 2 and brings great experience to our panel. We hope Michelle enjoys her judging with us today.

Mr Bobby Browne Jnr (Modelvill); A warm welcome to Bobby on his Championship appointment with us today. Bobby has enjoyed great success in American Akita’s over the years and we are delighted that he brings a wealth of knowledge to our judges panel today.
