SHOW REGULATIONS

  1. RULES: The Show will be held under the Rules of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd., as in force on the dateof the publication of this schedule and will be on display in an abridged form on the day of the Show.
  2. VENUE: The Show will be held at the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Knockanes, Adare, Limerick on Thursday August 18th 2022 between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm approximately.

    Dogs registered in partnership or joint owners are treated as separate entries, even when for- warded by single owners. Adjustment of a class is possible via the registration page by yourself. For this you will need to pay a fee. The adjustment will be take into account only when the fee is paid. The adjustment of a class is allowed until the final deadline.

  4. PRIZES GUARANTEED: Prize money will be paid on the ertificates by email to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Reserve. Rosettes will be given to Green Star, Best of Breed, Group Winners, Reserve Group Winners, Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.
    Best in Show €100/Reserve Best in Show €60/Other Group winners €25/Best in Brace Stakes €20/ Best in Champion Stakes €20/Best in Team Stakes €20 / Best Veteran Stakes €20. Puppy Stakes €50, Best Baby Puppy €20. There will be no Class Prize Money.
    Where special prizes are offered for competition by or through a Specialist Club the Specialist Club will be responsible for the collection and distribution of the prizes. In the event of disquali- fication of such, all prize money and awards must be returned immediately to the Limerick & District Canine Club Secretary on notification of such disqualification from the Irish Kennel Club Ltd.

  5. THE ENTRY FEE OF EXHIBITS failing to arrive or rejected by the Veterinary Surgeon will be for-
  6. VETERINARY EXAMINATION: A Veterinary Surgeon, or an authorized substitute, in attendance will have the power to exclude any exhibit which in his/her opinion is not in a fit state for exhibi- tion on account of disease, vice, or other cause.
  7. JUDGES: In the event of any appointed Judge, failing to keep his/her engagement, the Committee reserves the right to appoint another Judges or Judges.
  8. JUDGING:
    (a) Breed classes will commence at 9:00 am. sharp.
    (b) Puppy Stakes will commence at 9:00 am. No claim will be considered in the event of any exhibit being late.
    (c) NO PERSONS will be allowed in the Judging ring except the Judge, Show Officials, or an exhibi- tor taking in a dog for adjudication
    (d) The exhibition number of each dog which must be clearly displayed by its handler who shall not wear a badge or other decoration in the Judging Ring.
    (e) The Club will not be responsible for the exhibition of any exhibit in the Ring, even though the exhibit may be on the grounds at the time of Judging. In the event of any exhibitor requesting a Steward or other Official to handle his/her exhibit in the Ring, any such Official may voluntarily doso only on the distinct understanding that such action is on behalf of the exhibitor and does not involve any responsibility whatever or any responsibility for loss or damage consequential or otherwise.
  9. EXHIBITS: Each exhibitor shall be responsible for keeping their exhibits under proper control at all ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES ANYWHERE ON THE SHOW GROUNDS.
  10. REJECTING ENTRIES: : (a) The Promoting Body reserves the right to reject any entry, adver- tisement or other insertion in the Catalogue or the allocation of Stand Space at the Show. (b) No entries will be accepted without the appropriate Entry Fee, which cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
    (c) INELIGIBLE ENTRIES: A transfer of an incorrect entry as to sex or breed may be allowed by the Secretary prior to the commencement of judging and a dog entered in an age class for which it is not eligible may be transferred to the next appropriate age class. but in no other respects.
  11. All judges are requested to take classes in each breed in the order in which they are entered in the Judging
  12. ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS: appearing in any newspaper prior to the Date of the closing of Entries, and in reference to any alterations made by the Club in the Schedule, or in these Regulations shall be deemed sufficient notice there of.
  13. INTERPRETATION: The Promoting Body shall be the “Show Committee” within the meaning of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd., rules and all disputes (if any), shall be dealt with by the Promoting Body. Parties to any such disputes shall have the right to appeal to the Irish Kennel Club Ltd.
  14. RESPONSIBILTY: Exhibitors will please understand that while every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of the exhibits;
  15. During the exhibition of Dogs at this Show the officiating Judge will not allow, under any circum- stances, any form of distraction by ring siders and will disqualify any exhibit which is being as- sisted in its performance by any person other than the handler
  16. Exercise/Puppy Pens: are prohibited within the confines of the exhibition area, at all shows li- censed by the Irish Kennel Club with effect from the 1st January 2009.
  17. Dogs not entered for competition: Dogs which are not being exhibited at all Breed Championship Shows must be entered as NOT FOR COMPETITION, for insurance purposes, prior to close of Dogs to be entered on a form supplied by the show promoting society giving details of breed/s and name/s of each dog. The show promoting society shall issue a pass or passes to such dogs and keep a record of same. Production of passes may be requested in any area of dispute. The fee for this facility shall be Five Euro, (€5.00), per dog.

 Order of Judging - the proposed order of judging will be made available before show day.

RULES FOR GROUP JUDGING & BEST IN SHOW

  1. The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility nor be under any obligation to see that dogs eligible to compete are exhibited in their particular Groups, or for Best in Show, other than announcing in the ring that judging is about to take The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility in the case of an exhibit that is excluded from competing in a Group, owing to the judging of its breed not having been completed, or for any other reason.

  6. Upon entering the Group Ring Competitors must produce their correct ring
  7. In each Group and Best in Show the judges shall make the following awards: viz, 1st, 2nd, 3rd to 4th place, absentees MUST be marked.
  8. Competition for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show is confined to the winners of the ten
  9. If your Group Judging has not commenced before 4:30 p.m. a Best of Breed winner may leave the show but must notify the Show Secretary in writing that the exhibit will not be present for the Group judging. Otherwise all exhibits qualified for the Group must be exhibited An exhibit failing to report for the Group will incur a fine of €50 and be disqualified from all wins on the day unless a valid reason is lodged with the Show Secretary before judging commences.

Notice for schedule
The Stakes Classes scheduled at this Show are separate from the Breed Judging and do not come under the rules of the Green Star System, e.g. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stakes Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group.
All exhibits who wish to enter Stakes Classes must be entered in their relevant Breed Classes with the exception of Champions/Veterans who may enter the Stakes Class only.
A separate judge other than the Best in Show or Group judge must be used for stakes classes (Best in Show qualified) (effective from the 1st January 2011)

Breeds Not Separately Listed

Breeds entered in the Breeds Not Separately Listed at National Championship Shows will be entered into their appropriate breed class and the breed listed in the Catalogue. A Judge may award a Green Star and Best of Breed in each breed to any dog unbeaten and eligible, if in his/her opinion they are of sufficient quality and graded excellent or in the case of puppies “Very Promising” Effective from 1st January 2011.

Cropped Dogs

Cropped dogs are not permitted to be exhibited at any Irish Kennel Club licenced event.

PUPPY STAKES
Please Note: The Puppy Dog Stakes Class will be judged at 9.00am followed by the Puppy Bitch Stakes. All exhibits entered MUST also be entered in a Breed Class.

Kindly note that there are two Puppy Stakes Classes, one for Dogs and one for Bitches, from which the Judge will select a minimum of four from each Class to compete for

It is not necessary to enter Veterans in their Breed Class, you may enter in the VeteranStakes Class only.Prize Money: 1st: €20.00

JUNIOR HANDLING
Junior Handling Classes will be judged after Stake Classes Handlers name and dog's name required on the entry form. No entry fee for dogs entered in Breed Classes
Entry Fee if not entered in Breed Class for Junior Handlers is €5.00
